ExSqueezeMe is a small but perfectly formed greengrocer located in Handbridge, Chester, and we’ve been serving a full range of fresh fruit and veg, and delicious freshly squeezed juices to the locals for over 16 years. All served with a smile and our eco-friendly approach – that’s right, plastic-free and re-usable materials where possible!

OUR ECO-FRIENDLY APPROACH
We like to think green! We are a greengrocer after all. We source our fresh produce from trusted suppliers (local and organic wherever possible), visiting wholesalers and growers personally so we can check the quality of the goods. We also like to avoid any unnecessary waste, so we dodge the plastic where we can, packing your produce in repurposed boxes, and our juices come in glass bottles that we ask you to return. We stock compostable, cotton and string bags, or you could just bring your own. Deliveries are brought to you by our electric van.
If you want to help combat food waste, simply let us know you are willing to accept less-than-perfect (but good to eat) produce, and you’ll get 20% MORE for your money!

Hi, we’re Jacqui and Dusan, and in early 2024, we became the new owners of this wonderful little greengrocers, nestled in the district of Handbridge. Chester has been our home for many years now, and we simply love it!
We feel proud to serve the local community with our fresh and tasty produce and we love nothing more than a good ole chin wag with our customers.

Do you have a price list?No, we do not publish a price list as the cost of the produce changes on a weekly basis, we do however publish a product list.

How do I place an order?Ordering is easy; simply fill in the online form and tell us your name, address, contact details, order, and your preferred collection or delivery day.

Where do ExSqueezeMe deliver to?We deliver within a five-mile radius of Chester town centre.

What time do ExSqueezeMe deliver?We deliver Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm. As we are a small business, we can’t offer delivery time slots.

Is there a minimum spend for free delivery?Yes, there is a minimum spend of £20. If it is less than £20, a delivery charge of £1.50 will be payable.

Do I need to be at home when you deliver?No, you don’t need to be at home. You can advise us of a safe place to leave your box, be it with a neighbour, behind a bin, or in a shed.

Can I change my delivery day?Yes, provided we have the capacity to deliver your box on the preferred day.

Do you offer a click and collect?Yes, just fill in the online order form in full, along with your preferred collection day, and we’ll have it ready and waiting for you. Minimum spend of £20.

Can I add shelf items to my box order?Yes you can, whether it’s a dozen eggs or a pasta sauce, just list the items you require when placing your order.

Is all your stock organic?No, although we do source organic produce when it is available and of sufficient quality. We would prefer to use local, independent suppliers when we can. Most of these growers use qualified methods in organic production, but due to the cost involved, they are not certified. We also have to consider the environmental impact of food miles and waste. The vast majority of our dry stock is organic and clearly labelled.

Where do you source your produce?We source most of our produce from the markets in Liverpool and Manchester. You will appreciate that fruit and vegetables are seasonal, and subsequently, the source of their products (companies and countries) changes on a weekly basis. We are a small business, and we simply cannot check each company every week. We have, however, researched many of the producers. Predominantly, they use eco-friendly, qualified organic methods, but they do not stop the use of phytosanitary products in cases of need. We are happy with this, as food waste is bad for the environment. It may shock you to hear that we waste around a third of the food produced for human consumption!

Are the boxes always the same size/weight?No. The produce varies in price, size, and weight depending on what is available. Many items, e.g., bananas, potatoes, etc., are sold by weight, so the quantity will differ.

Do I have to order every week?We offer a flexible service, so you can choose to have a delivery on whichever week suits you. To change your order, just let us know two days before your delivery day.

Can I swap what’s in my box?No, the contents of our set boxes are fixed. Some fruit and veg are seasonal and will therefore vary throughout the year. However, if you suffer from food allergies, please advise us and we will do our best to swap out the item.

Can I alter my box?Yes, if you wish to change the size of your box, simply email us 48 hours prior to your normal delivery day.

Can I pause my regular box order (such as for a holiday)?Yes, if you wish to pause your order, just email us 48 hours prior to your normal delivery day and tell us the date range.

How do I pay?Payments are made by bank transfer prior to delivery. Details will be supplied. You will receive a breakdown of the items and their cost with your box.
